7 Years in the City by Janet Muhm

For the seven years Janet created A YEAR IN THE CITY calendars, she was telling herself stories about St. Louis. Some were based on history, some drew on popular culture, and some stemmed from decades-old memories. Over time, she discovered that her pictures were telling the stories of her customers, too. This shared experience was exactly what she had hoped to create with her art.

7 YEARS IN THE CITY is a collection of the stories behind her calendar, each paired with a full-color illustration, many of which have been remastered for this book. A special section focuses on her process as a digital artist. A locator map encourages readers to build their own itineraries and tell their own stories about living in St. Louis.
